Pro-Se Saturday Mornings
Micah Barry Mediation offers limited Saturday mornings for domestic relations (divorce, legitimation/paternity, child custody, child support, spousal support, modification, etc.) where neither party is represented by an attorney, both sides work, and there is no Guardian ad Litem involved in the case.
Saturday morning mediations begin at 10:00 a.m. Eastern and go until 2:00 p.m. While there are no set Saturdays that are offered (for example, Saturdays are not limited to just the first Saturday of the month), once two Saturdays have been booked in a month, the rest may be closed off.
Collections Days
Certain types of cases do not need even half a day. Most commonly, these are collections cases, but Homeowners Association cases for unpaid assessments frequently fall into this category. To make matters easier for collection firms, banks, debt-relief firms, and HOA representatives, Micah Barry Mediation offers dedicated collections days.​
Collections days are booked as full-day mediations, starting at 9:00 a.m. Eastern. Each mediation is 90 minutes, flat-rate, half-rate. Mediations start at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

Here is how they work:

Assume a firm has four cases with the same client (one creditor with at least four debtors or one debtor with at least four creditors). All four cases are ready for mediation. Under normal mediation bookings, four half-day mediations would be booked, subject to a two-hour minimum. Now, assume that the four cases had these results:​

In the first case, the case settled after one hour of mediation. Each side was subject to the two-hour minimum and paid $200.

In the second case, the other side did not show up. The no-show party was responsible for the $400 no-show fee, and the booking party was not responsible for anything.

In the third case, the matter settled the day before mediation, and the parties were obligated to split the late-cancel fee with each paying $200.

In the final case, the matter went for 30 minutes and did not settle. Each side was subject to the two-hour minimum and paid $200.

In this scenario, the booking party reserved two full days and paid $600, while the other parties paid $200, $400, $200, and $200, respectively.

With a collections day booking, the four cases are scheduled for one and a half hours each, flat-rate, half-rate. The booking party pays $300 for the day, and each other party pays $75. Using the results of the four cases above:

The other side in the first case would pay $75.

The other side in the second case would be responsible for paying Micah Barry Mediation $75 and reimbursing the booking party for $75.

The other side in the third case would be responsible for $75.

The other side in the final case would be responsible for $75.

The booking party would pay $300. Each of the other parties would pay $75. In the event of a no-show, the booking party would need to seek reimbursement of their half, which would still be due. Even with this, however, the discount rate still means the booking party walked away paying less money and resolving four mediations in a half the time.
